I did manage first to save my templates/styles fortunately and recopied them back to the appropriate folder so at I need to reset all my personalisations (auto corrects etc. It worked fine – forĪs you can imagine, this is EXTREMELY annoying, not to mention time consuming. I followed the guidance on the MS sheet: Troubleshooting Offfice 2016 for Mac issues by completely uninstalling before you reinstall. The first 2 times, months apart, I contacted MS vis Chat, the the technical very helpfully took over my computer, completely uninstalled Office, downloaded the installer file and installed it. The, unfortunately, has now happened 4 times. In other words, Excel has become corrupted and is unusable. After clicking "ok", I get the same message with a different file. The files seem to be pdf and doc files from my Documents. All of a sudden, Excel for Mac 2016 (365), running on MacOS Sierra (10.12.5) gives me the following error messages:
